BYZ Fix ("BYZ Fix", "we", "us"), operated by BYZ Construction Group Inc., is a technology platform that connects people who need home services with independent, licensed contractors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

To help understand and categorize the home-service problem you describe, BYZ Fix sends the free-text description of the problem you type (for example: "my AC is not cooling") to a third-party AI service:
The AI service processes the text to return a result and does not receive information that identifies you. You can find more information in Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Payments are handled by Stripe, Inc. BYZ Fix is a platform that facilitates the transaction and charges a service fee; the service itself is provided by the independent technician. Your card details are entered into Stripe's secure, PCI-compliant fields and are never seen or stored by BYZ Fix.
If you have a technician (contractor) account, you can permanently delete it directly in the app at any time:
When you delete your account, we immediately remove your ability to sign in and we delete or anonymize your personal data, including your name, email address, phone number, business and license details, insurance details, uploaded identity documents, and your signature.
What we retain, and why: for legal, tax, and accounting obligations, we must keep records of completed jobs and payment transactions (such as invoices and Stripe payout records) for the period required by law. These records are stripped of the personal details that identify you and are kept only for compliance. If you do not have in-app access, or you have a different type of account, you can request deletion by emailing us at the address in Section 11 and we will process your request.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. After you delete your account (see Section 6), your personal data is deleted or anonymized, while compliance records (completed jobs and payment transactions) are retained without identifying personal data for the period required by applicable US tax and accounting law, after which they are deleted.
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of non-essential communications. Technicians can also delete their account directly in the app (see Section 6). California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what data we collect and the right to deletion. We do not sell personal information.

We use industry-standard measures, encrypted connections, and trusted providers to protect your information. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
BYZ Fix is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
